Mrs. Betsy Snyder is the Food Service Director at Hollidaysburg Area School District. She holds a bachelor's degree in Nutrition and is a Registered Dietitian.
Prior to coming to Hollidaysburg, she was a clinical dietitian at Homewood Retirement Community followed by 5 years of experience as the Food Service Director at the Spring Cove School District.
As the Food Service Director, Mrs. Snyder is responsible for the operation of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. She feels that the school environment is an opportunity for students to learn about nutrition that is supported by healthy food choices presented to them on a daily basis in the cafeteria. Her greatest challenge as a Food Service Director is balancing "student favorites" with healthy choices such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and low-fat milk.
